Verse 031

In life we loved you dearly
In death we’ll do the same
It broke our hearts to lose you
You did not go alone
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home
You leave us peaceful memories
Your love will be our guide
And though we cannot see you
You are always at our side
Our family chain has broken
And nothing seems the same
But  as God calls us one by one
The chain will link again.

Verse 032

Those we love don’t go away,
They walk beside us every day
Unseen, unheard, but always near.
Still loved, still missed, still very dear.

Verse 033

“Dad”
Dad is such a special word
A word that brings to mind
A big warm smile, a helping hand
A way of being kind.
Devotion to the family
A world of patience too.
Dad is such a special word;
Because it stood for you.
Please God forgive a silent tear,
A fervent wish that dad was here.
Gracious God, take a message
To our father in Heaven above;
Tell him how much we miss him,
And give him all our love.
Someday, sometime, we shall see
The face we loved so well.
Someday we’ll hug you Dad
And never say farewell.

Verse 034

You never said you were leaving,
We never got to say “goodbye”
You were gone before we knew it,
And only God knows why.
In life we loved you dearly,
And in death we love you still,
In our hearts you have a place,
No one will ever fill.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn’t go alone;

Verse 035

I wish that I could bring you back,
If even for a day,
So I could finally tell you,
All I need to say.
I need to say I love you,
And that you’ll never be replaced,
All the memories that I cherish of you 
Can never be erased.
I need to say I’ll miss you,
During this temporary part,
But till the day we meet again,
I’ll carry you in my heart.
But most of all I need to say,
You mean the world to me,
Always remembered and forever loved
Is what you’ll always be.

Verse 036

Our hearts ache with sadness
And secret tears do flow;
And what it means to lose you
No one will ever know.
We will hold you close within our hearts,
And there you will remain,
To walk with us throughout our lives,
Until we meet again.

Verse 037

“Remembrance is a golden chain
Death tries to break but all in vain;
To have, to love, and then to part
Is the greatest sorrow of one’s heart.
The years may  wipe out many things,
But this they wipe out never -
The memory of those happy days
When we were all together”

Verse 038

We watched you suffer;
We heard you sigh; 
But all we could do was just stand by,
When your time came, we suffered too;
For you never deserved
 what you went through.
Looking back with tenderness
Along the path we’ve trod, 
We blessed the many years we had
and  left the rest to God.
If all the world were ours to give,
We would give it all and more
Just to see your smiling face,
Come walking  through the door.

Verse 039

Those we love remain with us,
for love itself lives on,
And cherished memories never fade
because a loved one’s gone......
Those we love can never be
more than a thought apart,
For as long as there is memory,
they’ll live on in the years.

Verse 040

Is anybody happier because
you passed his way?
Does anyone remember that
you spoke to him today?
Can you say tonight, in parting
with the day that’s slipping fast,
That you helped a single brother
of the many that you passed?
Is a single heart rejoicing
over what you did or said?
Does the man whose hopes were
fading now with courage look ahead?
Did you leave a trail of kindness,
or a scar of discontent?
As you close your eyes in slumber,
do you think that God will say,
“You have earned one more tomorrow
by the work you did today?”
