The Funeral Service was held at the Evangelical Free Church, 214 - 4 Avenue West, Bow Island on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 2:00 P.M.

Ben is survived by his children Gerald (Kathy) Reimer, Harvey (Sue) Reimer, Dorothy (Reg) Robey and Brent (Tammy) Reimer all of the Bow Island area and by his son-in-law Walter (Rhonda) Wiens of Swift Current, Saskatchewan. He is survived by thirty two grandchildren and thirty nine great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by Margaret Reimer, his loving wife of sixty three years, daughter Eleanor Wiens, great granddaughter Cara Hope Hume and by his parents John and Anna Reimer.

Ben was born in Stavely on January 16, 1931. He was the oldest of nine that included his five brothers and three sisters. He cherished their love and was blessed to have numerous extended family to rumble with.

Ben grew up in the Vauxhall area, and later attended Bible school in Coaldale where he met Margaret Doerksen. They married on August 23, 1953. Eleanor was born while living in Vauxhall, before moving to Burdett in 1956 where Gerald, Harvey, Dorothy and Brent joined the family. Money was tight but between hunting for their food and selling their farm produce to neighbours, they were able to make ends meet. They built a home together that was open to family and friends alike.

Ben worked as a hired man until he was able to start farming on his own with the help of generous friends. He grew beets, beans, grain and hay as well as nurtured his cattle, chickens and pigs. He especially loved his cattle. Ben enjoyed hauling his cattle to Pinhorn Grazing Reserve and working on branding days. Ben was a handyman and built two houses for himself and numerous houses for his children. He enjoyed committees. He was chairman of the local beet board, an elder in his church and served as a Sunday school teacher.

His love was music, and he conducted many church and community choirs. Even in long term care, Ben continued to sing and his hands would be moving as he conducted the music. He was very outgoing and loved people and was a greeter at the church and was a welcomed presence at the door.

He was a kind man although he would marvel why people liked him. He was loved by many. His faith was of utmost importance to him and he prayed that people would see Jesus in him. We as a family saw the love, direction and prayers he showed to each one of us and believe he did model Christ.

Auf Wiedersehen, Till we meet again!
