LEN TOFIN JR.

1953 - 2006

Leonard Miles Tofin Jr., beloved husband of Derine Tofin of Burdett, passed away at the Bow Island Health Centre on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at the age of 52 years.
Len Jr. was born in Medicine Hat on December 26, 1953 to Leonard and Loretta Tofin. He was raised on farms at Bow Island and Dunblane, Saskatchewan. Len continued his schooling at Rocanville, Saskatchewan and Calgary where he received his Journeyman carpenter at SAIT. Len and Derine (nee Larson) were married May 17, 1975 at Rocanville, Saskatchewan. They raised their children in Burdett. Len had his own company and worked for numerous other construction companies throughout his life.
Len held executive positions with the Burdett United Church and maintained the Church for many years. He enjoyed reading, sports, camping, fishing, hunting, coaching his son's hockey and baseball teams, and loved to watch his children's sports events. He made friends easily and loved to tease. He was known as the kindest, gentlest man ever. While he will be dearly missed, he will be fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched. His greatest joy was always his family.
Len leaves to cherish his wife Derine, daughter Talena (Doug) Clavier, son Len and daughter Brianne; his parents Leonard and Loretta Tofin; sisters Sherry (the late Randy) Rainsforth, Kelly (Brad) McNeely, Nancy (Lindsay) Nelson; sister-in-law Lorna (Pat) Tourond; aunts, uncles, nieces nephews, cousins and friends.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Burdett United Church, Burdett on Monday, March 6, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Sandra McMillan officiating. Interment to follow in the Burdett Cemetery.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Len's name may be made to the Bow Island Health Centre, Bag 3990, Bow Island, Alberta T0K 0G0.
