Marian Dunning

1937 - 2024

Marian Lucy Dunning (née Sanderson), passed away in Kelowna, British Columbia on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at the age of 87 years. She left to join her husband Bob, her granddaughter Tina and her parents Harold and Lucy Sanderson.

The Burial Service was held at the Taber Memorial Garden, 7600 - 50 Street, Taber on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. 

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Marian, who was known as Grandma Dunning to many, is survived by her children Brenda (Gerald) Shandera, Randy Welwood, Amy (Rod) Schmuland and Garnet Welwood; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren She is also survived by her brother Leonard (Kathy) Sanderson and her sister Loretta (Albert) Schwarz and their families.

Marian was born in Taber on February 1, 1937 where she was raised before spending many years residing in Cranbrook, British Columbia. She delighted in creating art and was a wonderful quilter, photographer and painter and over the years, she lovingly crafted a variety of artistic gifts for her family and friends. Marian spent many years working with Bob at the local auction and ran her own craft store, Marnie’s Gallery, where she generously helped support and showcase the creative work of others. In her spare time, Marian also volunteered at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Fond of road trips, Marian toured with Bob and other family in their converted camper bus and enjoyed long weekends south of the border. She will be greatly missed by all.
