Dickie Engleson

1928 - 2020

 Ila Tereca Engleson known as “Dickie” by many, beloved wife of Peter Engleson, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side in Taber on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at the age of 91 years following a short battle with cancer.

 As a result of the restrictions regarding COVID-19, and the government’s recommendations a private funeral service was held at Southland Funeral Chapel, Taber on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.

 Dickie is survived by her loving husband Peter; daughter Merle (Blair) Jespersen of Taber and their children Kim (Blair) and Marty (Melanie) and their children Seth and Kylee; son Reg (Brenda) Engleson of Taber and their children Dallas (Michelle) and Stacey (Jonathan); daughter Debbie (Tim) Jespersen of Langford, British Columbia and their children Carla, Tyler (Mckenzie) and their children Ila, Beau and Madden, Nicole (John) and their child Harper. She is also survived by her brother Gallen “Bud” Vancleave of Taber, sister Wanda “Tootie” Engleson of Taber and sister in-law Corine Vancleave of Airdrie as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents Claude and Delia Vancleave; first husband Merle Tolton; great grandchild Jarrett Jespersen; brother Marlin “Joe” Vancleave; sisters Bette (Don) Steely and Coreen (Maurice) Abell; sister-in-law Doris Vancleave; brother-in-law Herb Engleson.

 Dickie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She cherished spending time with all her family and friends. Dickie was always proud and supportive of her family, her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters, friends and was active in bowling and aquafit. Dickie was an excellent cook and loved baking and hosting family gatherings. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
