GERHARD TIEDE

1934 - 2011

Gerhard Tiede passed away in Taber on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the age of 76 years following a lengthy battle with diabetes and more recently heart problems and cancer.
The Funeral Service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 4619 - 56 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Carl Bogda officiating. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
Gerhard is survived by his brother Helmut Tiede of Coaldale; sister Holde (Oskar) Schneider of Calgary; seven nieces and nephews and seventeen great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Johann & Elsie Tiede.
Gerhard’s chosen profession was as a cabinetmaker and he served an apprenticeship in Germany. After coming to Canada in 1955, he was a successful farmer and rancher for many years in the Purple Springs area (sugar beets and exotic cattle).
