Known in Taber as the “Pie Lady”, Sadie was born to Thys and Antje Pool in Drachtstercompagnie, Friesland, Netherlands on October 22, 1935. She lived in Friesland until 1951, when she immigrated with her family to Canada. They settled in Nobleford and eventually she moved to Taber where she raised her own family. She had a wonderful sense of humor, loved discussing current events and politics, playing games, baking, having tea with friends and family, taking care of her dog and going to church. Sadie treasured spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her faith made her the wonderful, generous, caring person that everyone loved and although she will be dearly missed, we feel at rest knowing that she has gone to her father in heaven.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Sadie’s name may be made directly to the Christian Reformed World Relief Committee, 3475 Mainway, P.O. Box 5070, STN LCD1, Burlington, Ontario L7R 3Y8.
