Lawrence was born in Westhope, North Dakota on August 7, 1939. He was raised and educated in Lyleton, Manitoba. After school Lawrence started driving truck, making this his lifelong profession. Lawrence owned and operated his own trucking company in Innisfail for a number of years. He later moved to Taber where he became employed with Hostess Frito Lay until his retirement in 2008. Lawrence’s passion was to spend time with family and friends. He had a great sense of humour, always making jokes and teasing the grandchildren. Another one of his passions was his 1956 Lincoln, which he loved to tinker with. He enjoyed taking it to car shows all over Alberta.
At the request of Lawrence and his family, instead of flowers you can send dandelions, if you can find them, or memorial tributes in Lawrence’s name may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 317 - 10 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 2M7.
