LAWRENCE MCINNES

1939 - 2011

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather and son, James Lawrence McInnes, after a short but courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the age of 71 years.
A private family service will be held.
Lawrence is survived by his wife Sharon; daughters Lisa McInnes of Kelowna, British Columbia, Kori McInnes of Innisfail and Kathryn Patras of Innisfail; sons Mark Paskowski of Edmonton and Dean (Paula) Paskowski of Rosemary. He is also survived by his mother Myrtle; grandchildren Brandi (Mike), Kaulin (Karen), Trevor, Andrew, Levi, Nicholas, Alexander, Riley and Katie; great granddaughters Hannah and Isabelle; sister-inlaw Jean McInnes as well as numerous other family members.
He was predeceased by his first wife Marion; brothers Allan and Orville McInnes; father James McInnes; son-in-law Dennis Sincennes; grandson Taylor Bourque; sister-in-law Melissa Lee McInnes.
Lawrence was born in Westhope, North Dakota on August 7, 1939. He was raised and educated in Lyleton, Manitoba. After school Lawrence started driving truck, making this his lifelong profession. Lawrence owned and operated his own trucking company in Innisfail for a number of years. He later moved to Taber where he became employed with Hostess Frito Lay until his retirement in 2008. Lawrence’s passion was to spend time with family and friends. He had a great sense of humour, always making jokes and teasing the grandchildren. Another one of his passions was his 1956 Lincoln, which he loved to tinker with. He enjoyed taking it to car shows all over Alberta.
At the request of Lawrence and his family, instead of flowers you can send dandelions, if you can find them, or memorial tributes in Lawrence’s name may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 317 - 10 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 2M7.
