1916 - 2011

John G. Biholar, beloved husband of Kay Biholar, passed away in Taber on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at the age of 94 years.
A private funeral service will be held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, Taber on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 with Reverend Sandra Riddell officiating. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
Besides Kay, his loving wife of 48 years, he is survived by his step children Gloria Frizzell of Toronto, June (Gerald) Pierson of Coaldale and Robert (Marilyn) Perini of Carseland; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Rose (Danny) Rohovie of Lethbridge and Flo Paulence of Lethbridge; brother George (Eleanor) Biholar of Regina as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Casian and Annie Biholar; sister Helen Topham; brothers-in-law Bob Topham and Bill Paulence.
John was born on December 16, 1916 in Regina, Saskatchewan, where he was also raised and educated. In 1942 he joined the Airforce as a air frame mechanic and served for three years. After being discharged he lived in Calgary, then Lethbridge and eventually moved to Taber in 1948. John was very good with his hands and was very artistic, so he started a sign painting business which he owned and operated for fifty years. John and Kay liked to travel and went to different destinations in the United States and Canada. He was also a member of the Taber Legion for sixty three years. John’s step children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy. He never forgot a birthday and was always happy to see them. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
