Bud was born in Regina on February 16, 1931. He was active in athletics all through his high school years. In 1950 he moved to Taber and in 1952 began his employment with Canadian Western Natural Gas. On November 12, 1954, Bud married Marg Braun. In 1956, he took a transfer to Crossfield where they started their family and made numerous friends. In 1964 Bud, Marg and the children moved back to Taber. His career with the gas company spanned forty years, retiring in 1992. After his retirement, Bud was able to focus on his passion for golf. When he wasn’t golfing, Bud kept busy working part time for the Taber Cold Beer & Liquor Store. Bud’s enjoyment of both curling and golf led to him serving on both of their executives. He was also a member of the Taber Volunteer Fire Department. Shortly after he finished working for the liquor store in 2008, his health began failing. He fought a long and hard battle the last two years. We are so proud of him. There are no words to describe how much he will be missed.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Bud's name may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke of Alberta, Box 2211, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 4K7.
