YAHN MANGOLD

1969 - 2010

Yahn David Mangold was taken from us unexpectedly on Friday, September 3, 2010 at the age of 40 years.
The Funeral Service will be held at the College Drive Community Church, 2710 College Drive South, Lethbridge on Friday, September 10, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Carl Bogda of Peace Lutheran Church officiating. A private family burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
He leaves to mourn his partner Misty Fleming and their daughter, his “Superstar” Alexis Ann. Yahn is also survived by his parents Arland and Rosemary Mangold; Misty’s parents Clark and Margaret Fleming; Misty’s brother Aaron; sister Lori Vincent and family as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, co-workers and friends, especially Tom and Colin.
Yahn was born on October 24, 1969 in Medicine Hat. He commenced school in the Crowsnest Pass, Bellevue, continued at St. Patrick’s and St. Mary’s and graduated from W.R. Myers School in Taber. Yahn attended the University of Denver at Denver, Colorado where he lived for a period of time. After spending time away he discovered that immediate family was very important to him, so he moved back to Taber and started his career in recreation. After years in Taber he chose to move to Lethbridge, and started working for the City of Lethbridge in the Recreation Department, where he worked till his passing.
Yahn was a very happy, vibrant person, who loved to help other people. He was a doting and caring father to Alexis Ann. He was always there for his friends and family, whether it be helping with the little things or doing the things that no one wanted to do.
Yahn was a kind and gentle person with an enormous capacity for empathy. At times quiet and soulful, he also had a laugh that could transform any moment…palpable to all who had the privilege of knowing him. We cry because we miss you, but our hearts smile because we were a part of your journey. In memory of Yahn a tree will be planted by his family in the Ken McDonald Memorial Sports Park.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Yahn’s name may be made directly to the Alexis Ann Mangold trust fund. Contributions may be made at any branch of the Royal Bank of Canada.
