CARL WESTERHOUD
1931 - 2010
Carl Westerhoud, beloved husband of Hilda Westerhoud, passed away in Lethbridge on Monday, August 2, 2010 at the age of 79 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, August 5, 2010 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
A private family burial service will be held at the Taber Memorial Garden prior to the funeral service.
The Funeral Service will be held at the First Christian Reformed Church, 3902 Heritage Drive, Taber on Friday, August 6, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Jake Corvers officiating.
Besides his loving wife, Hilda, he is survived by his children Casey (Monica) Westerhoud of Taber, Freda (Alfons) Poppe of Diamond City, Corry Westerhoud (Dennis Green) of Lethbridge, Margaret (Richard) Visser of Taber, Allen (Marianne) Westerhoud of Taber, Brenda (Mel) Shaw of Taber, Clarence (Debbie Ramm) Westerhoud of Lethbridge and Garry (Carrie) Westerhoud of Nobleford; twenty two grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Tim Westerhoud and Tony (Peggy) Westerhoud both of Taber.
He was predeceased by his parents Cornelius and Cornelia Westerhoud; sons Clarence and John; sister-in-law Clara Westerhoud.
Carl was born June 25, 1931 in Aarlanderveen, Holland. He married Hilda Dykstra on April 23, 1955 in Picture Butte. Carl worked at the Dominion Glass Factory in Red Cliff for ten years prior to his farming career. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, nature, his chickens and playing thirty one for pennies. Above all he loved spending time with his family.
