HAROLD ORSTEN

1929 - 2010

Harold “Soonie” Marvin Orsten, beloved husband of Audrey Orsten of Vauxhall, passed away in Taber on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at the age of 81 years.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Vauxhall Mennonite Brethren Church, 320 - 9 Street North, Vauxhall on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Ray Speaker officiating. A private family Burial Service will be held prior to the Funeral Service at the Vauxhall Cemetery.
Besides Audrey, his loving wife of fifty six years, Soonie is survived by his four sons, Wayne (Rachel) Orsten of Airdrie; Lyle Orsten of Lethbridge; Larry (Wendy) Orsten of Coaldale; Rod (Buayai) Orsten of Calgary and their children Ashley (Tim), Andrea, Emily, Jennie and Michelle. He is also survived by his brother Siguard Orsten, a sister Stella Popson and by numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Soonie cherished his grandchildren and made every effort to see them as much as possible. He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Vauxhall, serving on the executive for a number of years. He enjoyed his time as Service Officer as this filled the passion he had for veterans.
