JAMES MARTINSON

1960 - 2010

James Ransford Martinson of Taber, beloved husband of the late Pam Martinson, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2010 at the age of 50 years.
He is survived by his children Rory (Angie) Martinson, Nicole (Calvin) Elliott, Daina Martinson and his grandchildren Rylan, Colten & Teagan Martinson and Kaysen Elliott all of Taber; grandmother Grace Hurst of Taber; brother Bernie (Eleanor) Martinson, their sons Greg, Kevin, Derek and great niece Madysen Martinson all of Rosetown, Saskatchewan. He is also survived by Pam’s family, her parents Stan & Bea Gardiner of Rosetown, Saskatchewan; her two sisters, Rhonda (Mick) Kennon of Biggar, Saskatchewan and Gina Schatz of Maidstone, Saskatchewan as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Pamela Martinson October 28, 2003 and his parents, Karl & Patricia Martinson.
Jim was born April 14, 1960 in Rosetown, Saskatchewan. He married his childhood sweetheart Pamela Gardiner on July 21, 1979. He was employed for eighteen years with Triwell Oilfield Construction and most recently with Well-Tech as an Oilfield Supervisor. In his spare time he enjoyed quadding, camping, hunting, fishing, boating, carpentry, mechanics and gardening. The only thing he loved more than his 1981 Pontiac Firebird was spending time with his grandkids.
Jim’s fiftieth birthday party was a time of celebration and special memories. He enjoyed travelling to Cuba and Mexico and playing with his dog Machiko. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by everyone who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, April 22, 2010 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Friday, April 23, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Sandra Riddell officiating. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
