EDWIN LEONG

1941 - 2010

Edwin Gordon Leong, beloved husband of Lily Leong, passed away in Lethbridge on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the age of 68 years.
Besides his loving wife Lily, he is survived by his children Anthony (Muoi) Leong of Calgary, Julie Leong of Lethbridge and Jamie Leong of Lethbridge; grandchildren Sheldon and Kayla. Edwin is also survived by his sister Gloria Adachi of Lethbridge; brother Douglas Leong of Vauxhall; brothers-in-law Sonny (Theresa) Yu of Edmonton and John (Michelle) Yu of Edmonton; nieces and nephews Michael (Partow), Carol, Robert, Tammy and Tony; special friend Helen Conner.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Ida Long; in-laws Susan and Wayne Yu; infant daughter Laura Lynn; Anne Leong (mother of Anthony); brother-in-law Ray Adachi.
Edwin was born in Medicine Hat on September 9, 1941 to John and Ida Long. He worked alongside his parents and sister at Long’s Supermarket in Vauxhall until he retired. He enjoyed hunting and golfing and won many trapshooting competitions throughout southern Alberta. Edwin’s motto in life was “buy low - sell high”.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Vauxhall Mennonite Brethren Church, 320 - 9 Street North, Vauxhall on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Alana Johnson officiating. A private family burial to follow at the Vauxhall Cemetery.
