KEN PARKER

1933 - 2010

Kenneth Richard Parker, passed away at the St. Michael’s Health Centre on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at the age of 76 years.
Ken is survived by his wife Ann of Lethbridge; children Jennifer Valgardson of Taber, Brad (Tammy) Parker of Coaldale, Sylvia Jensen of Brooks, Perry Parker of Calgary, Sheri Parker (Dean Hayhurst) of Taber, Troy (Christy) Parker of Lethbridge and Ryan (Mandi) Parker of Lethbridge; fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Kathleen Jewra, his mother-in-law Giselle Nagy as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Horace & Elizabeth Parker; son-in-law Ed Valgardson; siblings Edith Beck, Victor Parker, Albert Parker and Stan Parker.
Ken was born July 28, 1933 in Taber where he was also raised and educated. He spent many years as a businessman in Taber. In 1975 Ken moved to Lethbridge to pursue further business opportunities and has remained there until his passing. He was active in sports for many years and loved his family dearly. Ken enjoyed his home and always looked forward to Christmas Eve, a time of year that he was especially fond of.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, January 8, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Wil Stonehill officiating. Burial to follow at the
Taber Memorial Garden.
