1923 - 2009

Clarence “Red” Jespersen, beloved husband of the late Margaret Jespersen, passed away in Taber on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the age of 86 years.
Clarence is survived by his four sons and their families: Kent (Marilyn) of Calgary and their three children Blake (Linda) and their two children, Maddie and Brooke, and Lindsey (Philippe) MacInnes and their two children Caelan and Rhian, and Brent; Blair (Merle) of Taber and their two children Kimberly and Marty (Melanie); Roger (Cecile) of Taber and their children Reid, and his daughter Rhiannon, Nicole (Shane) Ferguson and their two sons Dylan and Nicholas, and Ashley; Randy (Cheryl) of Vancouver and their children Scott (Debbie) and Corrie (Aaron) West and their children Emma and Ethan. Clarence is also survived by his sister Phyllis Dedekam and her friend Donald Stewart and nephew Eric and family.
He was predeceased by Margaret, his loving wife and long time caregiver of sixty three years; parents Ole and Muriel; grandson Aaron as well as numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Clarence was born in Taber September 28, 1923. He received his schooling in Taber as well as the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary. He married Margaret Serrie on July 14, 1944 and farmed south of Taber for many years. Public service was an important part of his life to which he dedicated fifty years including twenty one on the MD Council, ten as Reeve.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Sandra Riddell officiating. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
