PIETER BOS
1920 - 2008

Mr. Pieter Bos of Taber, beloved husband of Mrs. Cornelia Bos, passed away on Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008 at the age of 88, to be at peace in heaven with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Pieter was born on February 17, 1920 in Moordrecht, The Netherlands. He married Cornelia on June 13, 1947 and in 1967, with their nine children, immigrated to Canada.
Pieter is survived by his devoted wife Cornelia, his children Ann (Peter) Van Beers of Taber, Jane (Casey) Bydevaate of Taber, Toni (Peter) Rozendaal of Barnwell, Cor (Margie) Bos of Taber, Peter (Connie) Bos of Goderich, Ontario, Alice (Henry) Nyman of Wellington, Ontario, Helene (John) Moore of Goderich, Ontario, Arjan (Lora) Bos of Forest, Ontario, Caroline (Rod) Berg of Barrie, Ontario; forty grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren, as well as three brothers and two sisters in Holland.
He was predeceased by two brothers and one sister.
Pieter was a hardworking man. In Holland he operated a chicken farm as well as having a full time job. Upon arriving in Ontario, Pieter bought a farm and every summer had a field of cucumbers and raspberries. In 1981 Pieter and Cornelia headed west to retire, settling in Barnwell. His greatest enjoyment came from beautifying his yard and growing an excellent garden, for which he received several rewards from the Town of Barnwell.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at the First Christian Reformed Church (corner of Hackney Dr. and Hwy.36) Taber on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Jim Zondervan officiating. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
