HILDA THIEL

1912 - 2009

After a long life of bringing music to many, Hilda Thiel passed on to be re-united with her parents Anna and Peter Thiel and sisters Margaret Skretting, Beulah Pierson, Leona Lennox and Viola McCarthy.
Hilda was born in Sweet Valley, close to Lomond on June 8, 1912 and passed away peacefully in Taber at the age of 97 years on Thursday, October 22, 2009 with her daughter Cecilia Oakley and niece Linda Andruschak at her side.
She is survived by her daughter Cecilia (Roger) Oakley of Hudson, Ontario; grandsons Mark and Dale Oakley; great granddaughter Julieanne Oakley as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited for Prayers at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 324 - 2 Avenue North, Vauxhall on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Patrick Furtado SAC Celebrant. Burial to follow at the Vauxhall Cemetery.
