DALACE LEO WHALEN
1962 - 2005
Dalace Leo Whalen, beloved husband of Maureen Whalen of Lethbridge, passed away at the St. Michael's Health Centre, Palliative Care on Friday, January 28, 2005 at the age of 43 years.
Besides his loving wife Maureen, Dalace Leo is survived by his children Jennifer, Byron, Stevie-Lee, Nigel and Taylor; his parents, Mike & Yvette Whalen of Taber; his sister Jackie Power of Rocky Mountain House; his brothers Walter (Gerri) Whalen of Lloydminster, SK and Murray Whalen of Taber. He is also survived by Maureen's family including her parents Donald & Stafie Shannon of Blairmore; her sister Sheila Shannon of Calgary and by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dalace Leo was born in Taber January 20, 1962 where he received his early education at St. Mary's before graduating from high school in Mundare. He loved to learn. Dalace Leo completed his course of college studies in Child & Youth Care. He worked in the oil patch and also spent many years as a truck driver, a profession he thoroughly enjoyed. Dalace Leo spent his free time fishing, golfing cruising on his Honda Gold Wing motorcycle and playing his guitar, but most of all he enjoyed time with his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to prayers at Our Lady Of The Assumption Catholic Church, 2405 - 12 Avenue South, Lethbridge on Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at 8:00 P.M. with his parents, Deacon Mike & Yvette Whalen officiating.
The Funeral Mass will be concelebrated at Our Lady Of The Assumption Catholic Church, 2405 - 12 Avenue South, Lethbridge on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. with Reverend Wilbert Chin Jon and Reverend Mariusz Sztuk SDS Celebrants. Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
