KEN WOLFER
1957 - 2005
Kenneth Wayne Wolfer, beloved son of Allen & Pearl Wolfer of Hays, passed away at home on Sunday, August 14, 2005 at the age of 47 Years.
Ken was born September 19, 1957 in Brooks, Alberta and was raised and educated at Hays. Ken was a successful rancher and farmer and was very proud of his cattle. Every year during branding, Ken would always choose to wrestle calves. This past spring at Donald's branding, he finally promoted himself to ear tagging. He enjoyed curling, playing golf, watching sports on television and loved rodeos. He enjoyed the company of his pet dog "Mike" who smiled. Ken was kind, caring and generous to his family and friends. He had a reputation for lending a helping hand without expecting anything in return. Ken will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Besides his loving parents, Ken is survived by his sister Shirley (Jack) Tamaki of Lethbridge and their son Shaun Dennis, his brother Terry (Donna) Wolfer of Abilene, Texas and his sister-in-law Annette Wolfer of Hays and her children Valerica & Jesse and by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Ken was predeceased by his brother Murray Wolfer, October 1, 2004.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Vauxhall Mennonite Brethren Church, 320 - 9 Street North, Vauxhall on Thursday, August 18, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Jim Lochhead of the Knox United Church in Taber, officiating. Interment to follow at the Hays Cemetery.
