Besides his loving wife Edna of seventy years, Cliff is  survived by  his children Kaye (Evan) Easthope of Taber, Annette (Cecil) London of  Lethbridge, Rodney (Wendy) West of Mountain View; ten grandchildren  and twenty five great grandchildren. He is also survived by his  brothers Russell (Hazel) West, Larry (Audrey) West and Allen  (Jacquie) West; his sisters Donna (Lloyd) Erickson, Janice (Pete)  Shaw; his sisters-in-law Mildred West, Jolayne Hill and June Hartley  as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Curtis and Iona West and siblings,  Eva Ardean in infancy, Deral (June) West, Lloyd West, Melba (John) Pickett, Lavon (George) Pickett and by his brothers-in-law Arledge  Hill and Evan Hill.
Cliff was born August 1, 1911 to Curtis and Iona West. He was the  eldest son in a family of eleven children. Times were tough in  Cliff’s growing up years, so he learned at an early age how to take  responsibility and work hard. He never lost that strong work ethic  throughout his life. He was for many years a loyal and devoted  employee of the Canadian Sugar Factories Ltd. (formerly BC Sugar, now  Rogers Sugar). At the time of his retirement he was Superintendent of  the Taber factory. He was a good provider. Cliff loved sports. He was  a hunter, fisherman, curler and golfer. He played for the Raymond  Union Jacks basketball team that won the Provincial Title in 1931 to  1935. When he was no longer able to participate in these sports he  watched them on television. In their lives Cliff and Edna traveled to  many places spending several winters in Yuma, Arizona and Needles,  California. Here they made many lasting friendships. Cliff was a  proud and honest man. He was a perfectionist in everything he did. We will miss this patriarch of our family.
