TINA WALL
1919 - 2007
Katherina Wall passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at the age of 87 years.
She is survived by her children Henry (Donna) Doell of Calgary, Mary (Jerry) Howes of Oregon, Martha Wall of Taber, Jake (Bonnie) Wall of Taber, Margaret (Clarence) Hood of St. Briex, Saskatchewan; stepchildren Mary (Henry) Giesbrecht of Taber, Isaac (Louise) Wall of Mill Bay, British Columbia, Betty (Dave) Derksen of Taber, Agatha Mykytiw of Taber, Abe (Dianne) Wall of Taber and Helen Wall of Taber and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers Abe Friesen, Jake Friesen and Pete Friesen; three sisters Elizabeth Wiebe, Mary Fehr and Annie Guenther as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband John Doell, second husband John Wall; daughter Eva Thiessen; son Ernie Wall; sons-in-law John Thiessen and Bob Bullock; grandchildren Mike Wall and Janice Williams; great grandson Jeremey Bergen; great great granddaughter Emma Williams; grandson-in-law Chris Tromp and by eight siblings.
Tina was born November 2, 1919 in Gruental, Saskatchewan to Henry and Sarah Friesen. She was raised in Gruental and attended school nearby in Hague, Saskatchewan. Tina married John Doell in 1941 and together they had two children. Following the passing of her first husband, Tina met John Wall and they were married July 16, 1944. Tina’s early years were spent as a homemaker, raising thirteen children. She later cleaned rooms at the Rockyview Hospital in Calgary. Tina was very outgoing and adventurous. She loved to socialize and was steadfast in her faith and her love for the Lord never ceased. She also volunteered at the Taber Hospital for many years. Tina loved playing bingo, gardening, singing, traveling to Oregon to visit family, but most of all she loved her very large family. She enjoyed winter sports with her children, sleigh rides with family and singing music in her home with all her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church Women’s Group and bible group and was part of a women’s quilting group in Saskatchewan.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, May 4, 2007 from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Evangelical Free Church, 4418 - 52 Street, Taber, Alberta on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Ron Gartly officiating. Burial will follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
