LEITA BRODERSON

1932 - 2004

Leita "Corky" Dawn Broderson, beloved wife of  George Broderson passed away suddenly on Friday, October 8, 2004 at the age of 71 years.
Leita was born in the New West District on November 29, 1932, the second child of Ralph & Leita (Molly) Westwong. She attended school in Enchant and Vauxhall. Leita married George Broderson on October 15, 1956. They spent thirty-nine years on the family farm west of Vauxhall. In 1995 they retired to Taber. At the time of her passing, she resided at Taber Continuing Care.
Together they had four children, David of Lethbridge, Nola (Craig) Benson of Taber, Carol (Tom) Genert of Vauxhall and Melanie (Ed) Walker of Pincher Creek. She also has seven wonderful grandchildren, Kimberlee (Paul) Davis, Lindsey Genert, Stacey Genert, Devin Benson, Curtis Benson, Dustin Walker and Dylan Walker.
Leita loved music and played the piano by ear for most of her life, to the delight of her family and anyone who knew her. She loved her children and grandchildren very much. She was proud to have been a past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star in Vauxhall. She was a past member of the Vauxhall T.O.P.S. group and of the U.C.W. in Taber. It also gave her great joy to volunteer at the hospital before she became ill. She loved people and we know they loved her.
Leita is also survived by her sister Dorothy Broderson, sisters-in-law Gertie Westwong and Ethel Broderson, her aunt Clara Stevenson as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Leita was predeceased by her father & mother, Ralph and Leita Westwong, brother Dick Westwong, brothers-in-law Lloyd Broderson, Ervin Broderson and Wayne Secrist and her sister-in-law Irene Secrist.
The Funeral Service and Celebration of Mom's life will be held at the Vauxhall Mennonite Brethren Church, 320-9 Street North, on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Jim Lochhead officiating. Cremation to follow.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Leita's name may be made directly to The Schizophrenia Society, 426 - 6 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta  T1J 2C9.
