CRAIG BENSON
1957 - 2004
Craig Douglas Benson, beloved husband of Nola Benson of Taber, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2004 at the age of 46 years.
Besides his loving wife Nola, Craig is survived by his sons Devin & Curtis, his parents Harold & Lois Benson of Taber, his sister Wanda (Adam) Andreas of Edmonton and their children Evan, Shannon and Joy, his brother Owen of Coaldale and his children Jason and Cory and also Jason's children Taylor & Jayden, his sister Deb (Ib) Simonsen of Picture Butte and their children Brie and Casey, and his brother Elmer of Medicine Hat. Craig is also survived by Nola's dad George Broderson and her brother David Broderson both of Lethbridge, her sisters Carol (Tom) Genert of Vauxhall and their children Kimberlee (Paul) Davis, Lindsey and Stacey, and Melanie (Ed) Walker of Pincher Creek and their children Dustin and Dylan. Craig is also survived by aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.
He was predeceased by his brother Warren in October, 1974 and Nola's mom Leita Broderson October 8, 2004.
Craig was born in Brooks, November 9, 1957 and spent his early years in Rolling Hills before moving to Hays in 1959. Following his schooling at Hays and Vauxhall, he had a variety of jobs before settling into the oil patch in 1980. Craig married Nola Broderson on June 19, 1982. In March, 1994, he and his brother Owen started B & H Tank Systems Inc. Craig also was employed by Champion Drilling until the time of his passing. He enjoyed camping, hunting and winter holidays, and his summer fishing trips with "the guys to the Queen Charlotte Islands.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, November 3, 2004 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, November 4, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Jim Lochhead officiating. Interment to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
