ALICE PUTICI
1924 - 2007
Mrs. Alice Putici, beloved wife of the late Mr. Mike Putici, went to her eternal home in heaven on Friday, March 16, 2007, at Vancouver, BC at the age of 82 years.
She was born in Kayville, Saskatchewan on September 5, 1924, the second youngest of twelve children.
She is survived by her children Lydia (Ed) Breikreutz of Tilley, Sylvia (Bob) Plesko of Port Moody, BC, Diane (Gunther) Laubenstein of Burdett, Patti (Laurie) Shaw of Abbortsford, BC, Michael (Renae) Putici of Lethbridge and Nancy (Glen) Glesman of Leduc; fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Mike and great grandson Jamie Mortensen.
Alice married Mike Putici on January 1, 1942 and moved to the farm outside of Taber where she raised her family. She used the gifts and talents God gave her to serve others. Her husband and family came first but the door was always open and the coffee or tea ready. Alice and Mike retired to Lethbridge in September 1999. Alice has left a legacy of faith and leadership. She served in leadership roles in the Taber Christian Women’s Club and her seniors group. She loved being a Greeter at church and took an active role in the Gideons organization.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, March 22, 2007 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:30 P.M.
A Private Family Interment will take place Friday morning, March 23, 2007 at the Taber Memorial Garden. A Memorial Life Celebration will follow for all to attend at the Lethbridge Pentecostal Assembly, 480 McMaster Boulevard West, Lethbridge at 1:30 P.M. with Pastor Allan Rankin officiating.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Alice’s name may be made directly to the Gideons International in Canada, Box 3619, 501 Imperial Road North, Guelph, Ontario N1H 7H2, with local representatives being available in both Taber and Lethbridge.
