HELGA PEDERSON

1917 - 2008

Helga Guri Pederson beloved wife of the late Arne Pederson, passed away in Taber on Monday, May 19, 2008 at the age of 91 years.
Helga was born at Enchant on April 18, 1917 to Carl and Sofia Skretting. She married Arne Pederson on October 8, 1938. Helga and Arne farmed in the Enchant area until their retirement in 1969. Following Arne’s passing on October 4, 1974, she continued to reside in Vauxhall. For the past three months Helga has resided at the Clearview Lodge in Taber.
She is survived by her four children Carl (Roberta) Pederson, Hanna (Bernard) Odland, Arnold (Cathy) Pederson and Ruth (Phil) Philipoff; grandchildren Terry (Abigail) Odland, Jim (Laurie) Odland, Karen (Greg) Kyle, Jeff (Kim) Philipoff, Garry (Nadine) Pederson, Christina Pederson (Blaine Wanchuk) and Arne Pederson; thirteen great grandchildren Derek, Lisa, Blake, Tegan, Reed, Quinn, Peyton, Trent, Bret, Breeanne, Matthew, Britney and Brady; brother-in-law Bjarne (Ethel) Pederson as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Helga is also survived by extended family in Norway.
She was predeceased by her husband Arne; parents Carl & Sofia Skretting; brother Harold (Mildred) Skretting; sister Olena Barnaby.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, May 23, 2008 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Vauxhall Mennonite Brethren Church, 320 - 9 Street North, Vauxhall on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 1:30 P.M. with Reverend Jakob Pillibeit officiating. Burial to follow at the Enchant Cemetery.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Helga’s name may be made directly to the charity of one’s personal choosing.
