TED POWELL

1951 - 2009

Theodore James Powell passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the age of 57 years.
He is survived by his children Ryan (Lisa) Powell of Coaldale and their daughter Mariah; Ashley (Tom) Speakman of Lethbridge; siblings Marian Hendricks of Lethbridge, Deanna (Robert) Dickson of Burdett and Richard (Margaret) Powell of Lethbridge.
He was predeceased by his parents Alex and Olga Powell; brother-in-law Donald Hendricks and niece Susan Dickson.
Ted was born on October 4, 1951 in Taber. He spent his life working on the family farm, originally in Fincastle and then moving south of Grassy Lake, eventually taking the farm over in 1973. Ted enjoyed spending his time off the farm travelling. He has travelled extensively throughout the U.S. spending the majority of that time in Montana, Arizona, Nevada and Hawaii. Since retiring from farming, he has spent time in Cuba, the west coast and interior of B.C. Ted loved to spend time with family and was always there to watch his kids
participate in the activities they were involved in. He enjoyed live music and dancing. In recent years he has enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter Mariah and his “grand-dog” LeRoy. Ted will be missed greatly by his family and many friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at
11:00 A.M. with Reverend Wil Stonehill of St. Theodore’s Anglican Church, officiating. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
