JOE OHASHI
1924 - 2005
Mr. Hiroshi "Joe" Ohashi, beloved husband of Mrs. Alice Ohashi of Taber, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Taber Hospital on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at the age of 81 years.
Along with his loving wife Alice, Joe will be remembered by his daughter Joy (Mike) Regan of Edmonton and their children Kristin, Alison, Erin and Shauna; his daughter Lorraine (Ian) Wolsey of Lethbridge and their children Brian and Kendra; his daughter Carole (Blake) Tomiyama of Calgary and their children Stephanie and Melissa; his son Ron Ohashi of Taber and his children Jenna and Braden; his daughter Maureen (Greg) Nakamura of Taber and their children Michael and Marlee; his daughter Sharon (Rick) Kunimoto of Calgary and their children Erica and Kiara. He will also be sadly missed by his sisters Kay Tanaka and Margaret Sameshima; his brother Ken (Bonnie) Ohashi; his brother-in-law Jiro (Mae) Sasaki; his sisters-in-law Yo Ikebuchi, Tomi (Jerry) Hisaoka, Amy (Ken) Kurio and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Joe was born in Vancouver, British Columbia on July 21, 1924. In 1942 he moved to Raymond and settled in Taber where he has resided for 53 years. Joe will be sadly missed and always remembered by his family, the source of his pride and joy.
He was predeceased by his parents Kanshiro and Ito Ohashi and by his brother Mike Ohashi.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Taber Buddhist Church, Johnson Addition, Taber on Saturday, October 15, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Yasuo Izumi officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Taber Hospital Foundation, Palliative Care Unit, 4326 - 50 Avenue, Taber, Alberta T1G 1N9.
Joe's family would like to express their appreciation to the Palliative Care Unit and the nursing staff at the Taber Hospital and also to Dr. Ferland and Dr. Rooi in Calgary and to Dr. Wedel and Dr. Yamabe in Taber for the care shown to Joe during his illness.
