JOHN ODLAND

1932 - 2009

John Odland, beloved husband of Kathy Odland passed away in Calgary on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at the age of 76 years.
John was born in Enchant on December 1, 1932, the son of Billy and Inga Odland. He married Kathy Enns on April 8, 1961. They farmed and raised cattle in the Enchant area and over the course of years enjoyed travelling, with special trips to Disneyland, Norway, New Zealand and Hawaii. John’s best of times were spent surrounded by his wife and family.
Besides his loving wife Kathy he is survived by five children; Denis (Joan) Odland of Vauxhall, Cindy Feenstra of Nobleford, Valerie (Thomas) Belcastro of Vauxhall, Gordon (Destiny) Currence of Red Cliff and Cristina (Jim) Gal of Lethbridge; grandchildren Ivan (Lee Ann) Odland, Tryna Odland (Jason Martin), Cody (Stephanie) Feenstra, Joshua (Jenna) Feenstra, Braden Feenstra and Spencer Feenstra, Sarah Belcastro, Miranda Belcastro, Lexy Currence, Jayda Currence, Emerson Currence, Tammany Germsheid and Isabella Belcastro; great grandchildren Shawn, Darren, Abigail, Kandace, Lee-Ann and Alyssa and a brother Bert (Eunice) Odland of Camrose and by numerous nieces, nephews and adopted grandchildren.
He was predeceased by an infant son Leslie John Odland, a sister Bertha Grove and brother-in-law Helmer Grove.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, September 7, 2009 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Vauxhall Mennonite Brethren Church, 320 - 9 Street North, Vauxhall on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Jeffery Frostad officiating. Burial will follow in the Enchant Cemetery.
