HIDEO NISHI

1919 - 2004

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hideo Nishi on Saturday, July 17, 2004 at the farm in Bow Island, Alberta at the age of 84 years.
He is survived by his loving family; his wife Mitsuko, children June (John) Chin, Linda (Bob) Harris, Gary Nishi, Ken (Mary) Nishi and Sharon Nishi, brother Saburo (Kimino) Nishi; sister-in-law Hideko Nishi, grandchildren Scott and Angela Harris, Jordan, Carly and Kevin Nishi and also by numerous nieces and nephews.
Hideo was predeceased by his daughter Diane Nishi, parents Taichiro and Eda Nishi, sisters Sode Gonomaru, Akie Tagashira and brother Yoshinori Nishi.
Hideo was born in Kagoshima, Japan on November 10, 1919.  He immigrated to Canada in 1937 to join his family in Mission, B.C.  He moved to southern Alberta in 1942 and married Mitsuko Shigehiro in 1949. They settled south of Bow Island in 1956 where they farmed and raised their family. He continued to farm with his brother until he retired in 1991.
He enjoyed the company of family and friends, travelling and life on the farm.
The Wake and Funeral Service will be held at the Taber Buddhist Church, Johnson Addition, on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at 7:00 P.M. with Reverend Yasuo Izumi officiating.  Interment will take place at the Mountain View Cemetery in Lethbridge on Thursday, July 22 at 10:30 A.M.
