MYRTLE NORDQUIST

1921 - 2007

Myrtle Louise Nordquist of Taber, beloved wife of the late Arvid Nordquist, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2007 at the age of 86 years.
Myrtle is survived by her children Neil (Reneé) Nordquist of Minot, North Dakota, John (Isabel) Nordquist of Taber and Marie Raymer of Calgary; sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Arvid; parents William and Annie Howland; sister Beatrice Ambrose and son-in-law Jim Raymer.
Myrtle was born in Lumsden, Saskatchewan on March 19, 1921 to William and Annie Howland.  She met Arvid Nordquist in Moose Jaw during World War II at a dance and they were married July 21, 1943.  They moved to the Lethbridge area and eventually settled in Taber in 1956.  She blessed the lives of her family and others with cake decorating, painted sweatshirts, quilts and blankets as well as various other crafts.  Within the family she was loved for her baking and especially her sweet relish. Myrtle was as active member of the Taber community, serving as President and District Commander of the Taber Legion Ladies Auxiliary.  She was a long standing member of K.O.P.S. and she loved to walk.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Sunday, November 4, 2007 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. The Funeral Service will be held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, Taber on Monday, November 5, 2007 at 2:00 P.M.  Burial will follow in the Taber Memorial Garden.
