JOE MIYADA
1912 - 2005
Mr. Yoshiharu "Joe" Miyada, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Susie Miyada, passed away at the Coaldale Health Care Centre on Monday, May 9, 2005 at the age of 93 years.
Joe was born March 10, 1912 in Yamaga City, Kumamoto-Ken, Japan before immigrating to British Columbia in 1936. On February 21, 1937, he married Shizuko "Susie" Sakamoto in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. Joe spent his working years as a commercial painter in the community of Taber and surrounding area, retiring in 1982. He enjoyed fishing, and was a member of the Taber Chojukai and the Taber Buddhist Church. He was a resident at the Clearview Lodge in Taber before moving to Continuing Care at the Coaldale Health Care Centre just this past winter.
Joe will be lovingly remembered by his children Jim (Pat) Miyada of Edmonton, Jack (Rose-Aline) Miyada of Taber, Betty (Sam) Taniguchi of Lethbridge; his grandchildren Caitlyn Miyada, Tim (Jill) Taniguchi and his great grandson Joel Taniguchi. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Mrs. Asaye Sakamoto, Mrs. Amy Sakamoto and Mrs. Irene Sakamoto as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Joe was predeceased by his wife Susie, his sons Ronald and Roy and by his parents, brothers and sisters in Japan.
A private family funeral service and interment will be held.
Flowers and Koden are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Joe's name may be made directly to the charity of personal choice.
