Minnie was born September 26, 1916 at Hatton, Saskatchewan. In 1924 when Minnie was only eight, the family moved to Codette, Saskatchewan where her parents built the first hotel in the town. Minnie met her future husband Harry in Codette in 1933 and they were married June 29, 1938. The young couple started up a grocery and dry good store in Garrick, Saskatchewan and resided there until March 1953. Moving from Garrick, they bought the HiWay Grocery in Taber and owned and operated the little corner store until July 1966. After closing the store, mom worked at Bodies Women's Wear in Taber. In 1973, she moved to Lethbridge and worked in the linen department of Eaton's
Department store until she retired at the age of seventy two. Mom enjoyed cooking, bowling, bingo, traveling and dancing. Her constant companion of many years was her beloved cat “Peppy Poo”. When mom moved from her home in Lethbridge to Harmony Home in Taber, she had to give up her companion to the care of her daughter in Bentley.
