1928 - 2007

Lea Hiram MacDonald, beloved husband of Beverly MacDonald passed away at the Edith Cavell Care Centre in Lethbridge on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at the age of 79 years.
Besides Beverly, his loving wife of 49 years, Lea is survived by four daughters and their families: Michelle (Brian) Christensen of Lethbridge and their three sons Leland, Brant & Tory; Shawnalea (Norbert) Mertins of Taber and their five children Jayleen, Justine, Janessa, Jennae & Jesse; Nolette MacDonald of Lethbridge; Danielle (Joe) Miko of Lethbridge and their two sons Chancery & Chasen. Lea is also survived by one sister Mary (Maury) Dahlquist of Bellevue, Washington and her family.
He was predeceased by his parents Levi & Estella MacDonald.
Lea was born in Lowbanks, Ontario on March 11, 1928. He grew up on the family farm south of Taber and received his schooling in Taber. He was a true farmer and loved animals. Lea married Beverly Ayers in Great Falls, Montana on March 10, 1958. They lived on their farm south of Taber and raised their four girls. He was well liked by everyone and was a good friend to all. Lea became a resident of the Taber Continuing Care in November of 2004 and later moved to the Edith Cavell Care Centre in Lethbridge this past January. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, September 13, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Elizabeth Brown of the First United  Church in Lethbridge officiating. A private family burial will be held at the Archmount Cemetery, Lethbridge.
