NEREO MILLO
1944 - 2007
Nereo Anthony Millo of Taber, passed away peacefully with his loving wife Zorka at his side, at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at the age of 63 years.
Besides his loving wife Zorka, Nereo is survived by four sons, Bernard (Wendy) Millo of Taber and their children Jordyn & Rylan, Richard (Alison) Millo of Taber and their children Kade & Kennedy, Lloyd Millo of Kelowna, British Columbia and his daughter Jaela and Lenny Millo of Taber; his mother Caterina Millo of Taber, sister Livia (Louis) Sich of Trochu, niece Anita Sich (Chris Palaz) of Calgary and their daughter Carly, and nephews Dr. Martin Sich of Three Hills and Ivan Sich of Trochu; He is also survived by his mother-in-law Anna Radanovic and brothers-in-law Milan (Maria), Dusan (Nevenka) and Danko all of Croatia and by numerous cousins in Italy.
He was predeceased by his father Matteo in 1971 and father-in-law Mario in 2001.
Nereo was born in Verteneglio, Italy on August 5, 1944. He immigrated to Canada with his parents at the age of 12 years. They arrived in Halifax by boat, arriving March 21, 1957 and travelled from Halifax to Lethbridge by train. Nereo began farming north of Taber in 1961 with his parents. On February 8, 1975, he married Zorka Radanovic. Together, they continued farming at the homestead until he fell ill in the summer of 2007.
Nereo enjoyed the mountains. He loved playing with his grandchildren. Nereo was an extremely hard working man. A real perfectionist. He had a quiet nature, but when he spoke, everyone listened. Nereo will be sadly missed but fondly remembered!
Relatives and friends are invited for Prayers at the Southland Funeral Chapel, Taber on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Mariusz Sztuk SDS Celebrant. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
