STONEY BOURK
1923 - 2006
Raphael Alexander Franklin 'Stoney' Bourk, passed away in Taber on Friday, February 17, 2006 at the age of 82 years.
Stoney was born on May 15, 1923 in Springwater, Saskatchewan to John Alexander & Margaret Amelia Bourk. He was raised in the Springwater and Dodsland area where his parents farmed. He was married to Mavis Arnold. Together they had three boys Dwain, Terry and Woody and together they later moved to Alberta. His greatest enjoyment in life was his horses, his dogs and cattle. He enjoyed Saturday night dances where he would 'dance the night away' and many times being the last one to leave the floor. His greatest love and desire in life was his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Stoney will be forever loved and remembered by his oldest son Dwain (Barb) Bourk of Lethbridge and their children Juanita (Trevor) Fleming, Dwayne (Jen) Bourk of Coaldale and their children and Stoney's great grandchildren Tyrell and Colton; his middle son Terry (Mary) Bourk of Grassy Lake and their children Laurie Davidson of Taber and her children and Stoney's great grandchildren Kyle, Brandon and Kadon and their father Scott Davidson, Tracy Bartsch of Taber and her son and Stoney's great grandson Corey, Terry Bourk and his son and Stoney's great grandson Justin, Candace (Kevin) MacDonald of Medicine Hat, Denise (Matt) Elfring of Taber and their son and Stoney's great grandson Joshua and Cody Bourk of Grassy Lake; his youngest son Woody (Bunny) Bourk of Taber and their children Wendy (Mike) Zsedeley of Taber and their children and Stoney's great grandchildren Jessica and Mikie, Billy (Jen) Bourk of Lethbridge and their children and Stoney's great grandchildren Ashton and Jacey Rae. Stoney is also survived by his sister Roxie Getz of Kindersley.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Margaret, three sisters Rhoda, Ruth and Relta, four brothers Roy, Ranel, Reginald and Royal 'Sully'; his daughter-in-law Angie, great grandson Colton and by his brother-in-law Nick Getz.
The funeral service and burial will be held this week in Dodsland, Saskatchewan.
