1945 - 2025

Barbara Lynne Pierson (née Moorey), passed away peacefully in Taber on Thursday, March 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 11:00 A.M.

Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Roy Pierson, and their three children Lee (Julie) Pierson of England, along with their three children; Wayne (Jacquie) Pierson of California, along with their five children; Debbie (Norman) Depeel of Thorsby, Alberta, along with their five children. Barbara was also blessed with fourteen great grandchildren, six in England and eight in the United States, who brought her endless joy. She is lovingly remembered by her sister Brenda (Murray) Kunz; sisters-in-law Linda Moorey and Marilyn Pierson as well she leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents Earle and Muriel Moorey; brother Carvil Moorey; parents-in-law Ray and Lavern Pierson; brothers-in-law Gerald (June) Pierson and Joel Pierson.

Barbara was born on April 20, 1945 in Miami, Manitoba, to Earle and Muriel Moorey. In 1957, her family relocated to Taber, where she later met the love of her life, Roy Pierson. They were married for sixty four wonderful years, building a life filled with love, faith, and family.

A woman of deep faith, Barbara dedicated much of her life to serving in various callings within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was also an active volunteer in her community, always extending kindness and support to those in need. Her greatest joy was her family, and she cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She will be remembered for her unwavering love, generous spirit, and the way she made everyone feel welcome and cherished. Barbara’s love and legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the nurses and doctors of Taber Hospital for their compassionate care and support in attending to Barbara. Their kindness and dedication brought great comfort to her and her loved ones.
