He is also survived by his sisters Linda (Jim) Guilbault, Joyce Hayes and Darlene (John) Evans; sister-in-law Ann Richman; brother-in-law Don Redman and by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father Stan and step mother Eileen (née Ayres) and birth mother Fern (née Brown); his siblings Harry (Shirley) Van Hereweghe, Clarke (Elsie) Van Hereweghe, Stanley Van Hereweghe, Glen Van Hereweghe, Marlene Redman and Elna Molyneaux.

Louis was born in Medstead, Saskatchewan, where he spent his childhood years. His family eventually moved to Lacombe where he began working on the oil rigs.

Louis met a special gal by the name of Joyce Darnell at a dance one evening. They fell in love and eventually got married on one of the coldest days of the year, December 17, 1955.

Louis and Joyce moved with their young family of three, thirty six times before making Taber their final home. Louis was a hard worker and in the 1970s Louis went on to own his company, Well-Tech Oil & Gas Construction Ltd. In 1997, he sold his company and retired.

Louis was well liked, always an entertainer with a fun personality. He loved helping others. He was the type of person that no matter what the situation was, even if it was a problem, he would make you laugh and feel better.

He loved listening to music and dancing. There were many house parties through the years. Lots of music, lots of dancing and of course, Louis loved to play the spoons.

The grandkids will always remember Christmas with Louis. He would always spend at least half of Christmas day working on his sound system, getting it just right. Then the family would have a sing a long, play guitar and accordion. They may have even been a music lesson or two in there.

Louis favourite past time was camping at the Lost Lemon Campground and fishing in the Crowsnest Pass. He also loved to go fishing at Diefenbaker Lake with his buddies. We will always remember him as being fun loving, kind, and generous. He will be sadly missed.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Louis’ name may be made directly to the Good Samaritan Society, Linden View, 4700 - 64 Avenue, Taber, Alberta T1G 0C6 www.gss.org/locations/linden-view.
