Cornelius was born in Coaldale on April 1, 1930. He was blessed to spend many years of his life alongside his family on the farm in Anola, Manitoba. It was a source of fulfilment, filled with love, good memories and hard work. He devoted his life to serving both God and the community. Those who had the pleasure of visiting the farm would remark how inviting Cornelius was, as it was a welcome place for all if they were to stop in.
As a faithful follower of Christ, Cornelius was an active member of the church and spent many years distributing bibles for the Gideons. He found joy in singing hymns whenever possible, one of comfort was "I've Anchored my Soul in the Haven of Rest." He would say that you go through tough times, not that you are in tough times. His faith was unwavering and was the foundation for his character.
He will be remembered fondly, for all the kindness, understanding, and charm he brought to anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. May he rest in the Kingdom of God, forever at peace with those he loved who passed before him.
