Frank Angyal

1933 - 2024

Frank Angyal Sr., beloved husband of Julia Angyal, passed away peacefully in Bow Island on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at the age of 90 years.

The Funeral Service was held at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. with Life Celebrant Shelly Dawn officiating. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.

Besides Julia, his loving wife of sixty seven years, Frank will be fondly remembered by their four children, eleven grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren, Frank (Lori) Angyal Jr. of Taber and their family Clayton (Lisa) Angyal (his children Jayden and Chase), Adele (Trevor) Joly, Frank (Courtney) Angyal (their family Nash and Nellie) and Derek Angyal (his children Emery and Lennox); Julie (Russell) Bowman of Taber and their family Daina (Colt) Lazzarotto (their children Raegan and Abby) and Kevin (Destiny) Bowman (their children Brooklynn and Myla); Ethel (Doug) Russell of Lethbridge and their family David (Melissa) Russell (their children Emily and Gavin) and Michael (Stacey) Russell (their children Lucas and Mia; Kathy Boersma of Taber and her family Clarrissa (Mark) Brown (their children Mackenzie and Zoey), Brandi (Dan) Langert (their children Parker and Liam) and Andy (Jolene) Boersma (their children Morgan, Shae and Isabella).

He was predeceased by his parents Steve and Ethel Angyal; sisters Diane Pajer and Ethel Beny; brother Steve Angyal; brother in-law Gyula Pajer; son in-law Ralph Boersma and great grandson Aiden Russell.

Frank was born September 9,1933 in Tiszabercel, Hungary. He married Julia Novak and immigrating to Canada in 1956. Frank worked hard to take care of his family. Labouring on farms until his employment with Cornwall Canning, eventually working at Rogers Sugar where he retired at the age of sixty two.

Through the years, Frank had an interest in beekeeping which he enjoyed for many years later purchasing a farm and working side by side with his wife Julia and family until his passing.

Frank’s life was not all work. He enjoyed tending to his garden and planting flowers all around the farm. Frank enjoyed traveling with friends to Las Vegas, places in California, down east to Montreal and Windsor to visit family and back to his home in Hungary.

The most important thing in his life was family. Frank took great pleasure when family came to visit, talking about the things that were going on in their lives. His face would light up when his great grandchildren came running to give him a hug and kiss. Grampa will be deeply missed.
