Shurron Powell

1963 - 2024

Shurron Monica Powell (née Shaffer), passed away peacefully in Taber on Friday, April 19, 2024 at the age of 60 years. She spent her final days, surrounded by her family and friends who she loved dearly.

A celebration of Shurron’s life was held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 5205 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, April 26, 2024 between 1:00 P.M. and 3:00 P.M.

Shurron is survived by her husband David Powell of Taber and her children Brittany (Jordan) Valgardson, Cassidy Powell and Blake Powell (Jennae Mertins); grandchildren Nash, Navy and Vaeda. She is also survived by her mother Carole Traweek, brother Todd Shaffer, sister Joddi (Darcy) Scriven and by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father Ralph Shaffer, stepfather Howard Traweek and by her grandparents Hope and Johnny Shaffer and Ella and Casey Ralph.

Shurron was a friend to many with her bright, energetic, outgoing personality. She loved being with friends, anything outdoors and had a great love for animals. She loved her children and grandchildren and was so proud of all of their accomplishments.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Shurron’s name may be made directly to the charity of one’s personal choice.

Shurron’s family would like to thank the staff at the Taber Health Centre for their care and compassion as well as the support shown to her family.
