1953 - 2024

It is with deep sorrow and much love, the family of Keith Henrie Williams mourn the loss of their beloved husband, father and grandfather, who passed away peacefully in Calgary, surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, February 9, 2024 at the age of 71 years.

Relatives and friends were invited to meet the family at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Friday, February 23, 2024 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. and at the church prior to the funeral service on Saturday, February 24, 2024 between 12:00 P.M. and 12:45 P.M.

The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 1:00 P.M.

Besides Susan, his loving wife of forty six years, Keith is survived by their children Dayna (Wade) Forsyth of Fort Saskatchewan, Sherman (Tiffany) Williams of Kelowna, British Columbia, Matthew (Laura) Williams of Kelowna, British Columbia, Angela (Justin) Murphy of Airdrie, Kurt (Maria Mitrea) Williams of Calgary and by his fifteen grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother David (Nola) Williams; his sisters Moana Rasmussen, Ladene (Knowlton) ‘Ita’aehau, Juanita (Milburn) Kaaukai and Peggy (Kevin) Torrie; his adopted family Terry (Lynette) Evanson and by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

He was predeceased by by his parents Leslie and Leah Williams, foster sister Suzanne Toolican, brother-in-law Jody Rasmussen, nephew Tyler Williams and by his good friend Kent Evanson.

Keith was born on January 28, 1953, in Raymond, the eldest child of Leslie and Leah Williams. The family moved to the Taber area when Keith was about five years old. He attended school in Barnwell and Taber where he played basketball and baseball. He was also a member of the high school band, where he played the tuba. He attended Ricks College where he continued playing the tuba and enjoyed performing. After serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ireland from 1972-1974, he attended Brigham Young University. While on summer break visiting his sister in Calgary, he met and soon married his sweetheart, Susan Ernst, in November 1977. Together, they raised five children.

Keith embarked on a career as an insurance advisor in 1983, dedicating over thirty five years to selling individual and group insurance and investments with Sunlife Financial. He was passionate about sports and coaching, playing a pivotal role in developing the Minor Football program in Taber and serving on various boards within the community. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served diligently in numerous callings.

Keith's hobbies included photography and woodworking, through which he expressed his creativity and love for his family, crafting furniture, picture frames, and toys for his grandchildren.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Taber Hospital and the Foothills Medical Center in Calgary for their exceptional care over the past three months. Special recognition is also extended to the Salvation Army’s Agape Hospice for their compassionate support during Keith's final days, providing solace and dignity to him and his loved ones.
