He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren and extended family.
He was predeceased by his wife Grace on April 18, 2015 and his son Clarence on December 1, 2015.
Klaas was born in Opperdoes, Holland to Klaas and Alice Visser on September 6, 1929. In April, 1949 he moved with his family to Picture Butte. A new family moved near them in 1950 so the Visser family went over to meet them and it happened to be the Kiers family. Klaas and Grace met and continued with their relationship as it was love at first sight. The Visser and Kiers family moved to Taber in 1952 and Klaas and Grace got married on April 6, 1953.
He worked for numerous farmers and moved around to various places for work including Edmonton, Redcliff and Vauxhall. Klaas and Grace farmed north of Taber where they raised their family before moving into Taber in 1979. Klass and Tim Westerhoud formed a business, T & K Cabinets, in which they built cabinets and did finishing work for about five years. After his retirement in his spare time, he worked with Harry and Arlene at their business helping in carpets and installing drapery.
Klaas was a very caring, patient, gentle, loving, hard working, full of fun and jokes kind of guy and endured a life that changed due to taking care of Grace and Clarence. His family will miss him immensely and now he's resting in peace.
Klaas lived in various places and moved to Linden View in November 2022. His family would like to thank the staff at the various facilities for the wonderful care he received. Huge thanks to all his family and friends for their continued visits.
