ARDEN JENSEN
1934 - 2009
Arden Lyle Jensen, beloved husband of the late Maxine Jensen, passed away in Taber on Friday, March 6, 2009 at the age of 74 years.
Arden is survived by his son Kevin (Lori) Jensen of Taber and two daughters, Linda (Jesse) McCollister and Kelly (Scott) Young all of Hill Spring; eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Reed (Jean) Jensen of Barnwell; sisters-in-law Barbara Jensen of High River, Kate Jensen of Taber, Veda Pearce of Lethbridge, Lorraine Jensen of Ogden, Utah, Bev MacDonald of Lethbridge; brother-in-law Bob Stevens of Pleasant Grove, Utah; sister-in-law Barb (Joe) Hajek of Taber as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by Maxine in June of 2000, his loving wife of 43 years; his parents Einar & Lenore Jensen; brothers Vance, Reece, Devon and Dwin Jensen; sister Thea Stevens and a grandson Jeff Haley.
Arden was born to Einar & Lenore Jensen in Barnwell on November 8, 1934. He was the youngest of seven children raised on the family farm one mile east of Barnwell. After a brief time away from home following high school, Arden returned to the family farm which he purchased in 1969. He continued to farm there until his passing.
In 1957 he married Maxine Ayers and together they raised three children. Arden loved horses, cattle, farming, camping and fishing. He was always building something - kayaks, wagons, dog houses... he loved gardening. Arden enjoyed spending time teaching his kids and later his grandchildren to fish. He loved the outdoors and the mountains. Family and friends were very important to Arden.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. and also at the church prior to the funeral service on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 between 9:30 A.M. and 10:40 A.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Barnwell on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Bishop Eric Jensen conducting. Burial to follow at the Barnwell Cemetery.
