After a long separation, the rest of the family were able to immigrate to Canada, settling in Taber and were able to reunite the family.
Katie met the love of her life and married Joe Milder on November 26, 1950 in the newly completed St. Augustine’s Catholic Church. They were married sixty five years. Together they raised their four children and farmed south of Barnwell. Katie was a hard working farm wife, who took pride in her home, gardening and baking, but mostly her family. She enjoyed travel, music, dancing and a good chuckle. She was happiest when all were gathered to share a meal.
Katie was a woman of faith, a devout Catholic and was an active member of St. Augustine’s Catholic Women’s League.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Katie’s name may be made directly to the charity of one’s personal choice.
Katie’s family wish to express their gratitude to Dr. Yawni, Jacquie from Home Care and the staff at Linden View that cared for her over the last seven years. Also, thanks to the family, friends and volunteers who took the time to visit Katie and brighten her day.
