Dorothy Green
1943 - 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mom, grandma, sister, mother-in-law and friend Dorothy Evelyn Green in Taber on Friday, July 16, 2021 following a short battle with her health.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters Sherry (Brian) Renschler of Castor and Judy (Mike) Sprinkle of Barnwell and their daughters Jalyn and Makena. She is also survived by one sister Lynn (Morris) Schulz of Thompson, Manitoba as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Florence Kelso; brother and his wife Clifford (Doreen) Kelso; sisters and their husbands Dolores (Russell) Hendry and Marlene (Maurice) Green.
Mom was born February 7, 1943 in Young, Saskatchewan to Charles and Florence Kelso, the fourth child of five children. As a young adult, mom worked as a nurses aid in Gainsborough, Saskatchewan. She married Warren Green on September 15, 1962. Once her children were born, that then became her career until her passing. Their life brought them from Saskatchewan to Castor in 1974 then to Taber in 1983 where mom has resided until the time of her passing. Mom was the best homemaker, our best friend and the best grandma to her granddaughter's Jalyn and Makena and of course the best mom we could have ever asked for. Dorothy’s family and ‘her girls’ were so very important to her and she was proud of us all. Her hobbies included puttering in her flower beds and yard and always treating us with her baking talents.
Mom will be laid to rest in Castor with our dad Warren Green at a private graveside service.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Dorothy’s name may be made directly to the Taber and District Health Foundation, 4326 - 50 Avenue, Taber, Alberta T1G 1N9 www.tdhf.ca.
Our family would like to thank Dr. Benke at the Chinook Regional Hospital, Taber EMS, Dr. Yawney, Dr. Armstrong and the entire nursing staff at the Taber Health Centre for their care and compassion shown to our mom and our family during this difficult time.
