ENID HAND
1924 - 2005
Enid Rose Hand of Taber, passed away at the Taber Hospital on Sunday, October 16, 2005 at the age of 81 years.
Enid was born in Bristol, England on May 30, 1924. She was raised in Banbury, Oxfordshire where she received her schooling at Dashwoodroad School. She married in 1943 and came to Canada on May 12, 1982.
Enid will be remembered as having a song for everything, a smile for everyone and no one will ever forget those sparkling cheeky eyes. Her many interests included poetry, art, gardening, Joan's fairy garden, drama, crosswords, dancing and music. She played the piano, organ and piano accordion and enjoyed singing. She had a love of animals especially her dog Deja and in her leisure time watched hockey, soccer, the Olympics and cricket. She was a member of the Women's Institute, dance club and drama groups.
Enid will be remembered by her children: Janet (Barry) Williams of Plymouth, England and their son Laurance; Pat (David) Linden of Strathmore and their four children Rose, James, Ross (Janine) and Stuart (Lyndsey); Joan (Neil) Dunkley and their children Jonelle and Chris; a great grandchild Ayden; stepsons Leslie Hand and Robert Hand (Cheryl); a sister Ruby Rhind of Banbury, England and also by four nieces and three nephews in England.
She was predeceased by her first husband Roy Dennis Robinson; parents Albert Earnest and Lilian Clara Bennetts; a grandchild Claire Williams; two brothers Arthur and Stuart Bennetts; her in-laws Walter and Winifred Robinson and Reginald and Nellie Robinson and her brother-in-law Alex Rhind.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at 3:00 P.M. with Reverend Dale Lang officiating. Interment to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
