Lillian Olson

1933 - 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of Lillian Mae Olson announce her peaceful passing in Lethbridge, with her family by her side, on Monday, May 31, 2021 at the age of 88 years.

As a result of the restrictions regarding COVID-19 and the government recommendations, a private funeral service was held at Southland Funeral Chapel, Taber on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. Burial followed at the Vauxhall Cemetery.

Lillian is survived by her children Calvin (Maggie) Olson of Pincher Creek, Rod (Beth) Olson of Lethbridge, Elwyn (Denise) Olson of Spruce Grove, Orlyn (Diane) Olson of Lethbridge and Virgil Olson of Taber; twelve grandchildren, twenty one great grand children and one great great granddaughter who will all sadly miss her and forever cherish her memory.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Herman Olson on July 27, 2004.

Lillian was born in Taber on February 21, 1933, the second oldest of nine children born to Clarence and Edith Rombough. She grew up on the family farm in Grassy Lake and Enchant. She married Herman Olson on October 20, 1951 and they remained married for fifty three years until his passing. Lillian and Herman raised five boys starting in Enchant and then moved to Vauxhall in 1964. Her love for baking, sewing, community, church and helping others lead to many friendships. Lillian’s greatest love was family. You never left her house empty handed and she was always the first to lend a helping hand.
