Myrna Waddle

1942 - 2021

 Myrna Rose Waddle, beloved wife of the late Ken Waddle, passed away in Coaldale on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at the age of 79 years.

 As a result of the restrictions regarding COVID-19 and the government recommendations, a private funeral service was held at Southland Funeral Chapel, Taber on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. 

 Myrna is survived by her children Cindy Holloboff (Kevin Sorensen) of Vauxhall, Carolyn Waddle (Justin Whyte) of Lethbridge and Randy (Cheryl) Waddle of Lethbridge; grandchildren Stacie (Troy), Virginia (Justin), Alex, Mataeo, Liam, Darcy (Kristen), Sandy (Mike) and Lorelei (Aaron); great grandchildren Kierra, Chloe, Cooper, Finley, Haley, Brooke, Janessa, Shelby, Linkin and Cairo. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Pat Waddle.

 She was predeceased by her loving husband Kenneth Waddle; sons Kevin Waddle and Raymond Waddle; parents Clarence and Daisy Bergquist; in-laws Glen and Marie Waddle; brothers-in-law Harlan Waddle and Milton Waddle; sister-in-law Jean Waddle. 

 Myrna the only child of Clarence and Daisy (nee Ziegler) Bergquist was born at Matsqui, British Columbia on January 3, 1942. At the age of eight she moved to Fort Macleod, where she met her lifelong friend Brenda Postoloski and all of her first cousins the Crowson’s were nearer. Myrna worked as a waitress in Fort Macleod and Banff before marrying the love of her life Ken. Together Myrna and Ken raised their children Cindy, Raymond, Kevin and Carolyn, while Ken’s parents raised his son Randy on their family farm. With Ken helping his father with his farming,  Ken and Myrna were still able to spend lots time with Randy. Myrna lived for fifty two years at the farm in the Circle Hill community. She was a member of the Busy B Club and the Legion Ladies Auxiliary. In 1979 Myrna joined the Tops Club to lose weight and gained so many friendships over the years, travelling with her Tops Pals to the rally’s. Myrna would cook delicious meals for a crowd of friends and family. This included family reunions with fried chicken and potato salad, Legion events and turkey dinners. You were also always welcome to a cup of coffee at the kitchen table. She loved baking goodies to spoil grandkids Darcy, Sandy and Lorelei. Myrna and Ken enjoyed going for a Sunday drive and popping in at friends’ homes for a visit, camping and legion events as well as their trips to Vegas (ten times!). In 2012 Myrna moved Vauxhall to the Prairie Rose Manor and her rays of sunshine were Ginny and Alex as they now lived across the street at the park. In 2019, Sunny South Lodge in Coaldale became home where a good friend Audrey Orsten was nearby as well she made a new special friend Eleanor, at her table.
